Product Description

Daffodils are a popular spring flower that can also symbolize hope, renewal, and new beginnings.

They're a symbol of spring and symbolise new beginnings and rebirth. They're a positive, life-affirming symbol, with a bright and joyful yellow colour. Daffodils are strong, resilient flowers that pop up year after year. Some people choose to plant daffodils in memory of their loved ones.

Care Tips:

Daffodils grow best in temperatures between 50°F and 70°F, and they require full or partial sunlight and well-drained soil. Here are some tips for caring for daffodils:

  • Planting
  • Plant daffodil bulbs in the fall, about 6–8 inches deep, and 4–6 inches apart. You can sprinkle some bulb fertilizer in the hole when planting.
  • Sunlight
  • Daffodils need at least six hours of sunlight per day. They can tolerate some partial shade or dappled light, but they do best in full sun.
  • Watering
  • Water daffodils regularly in the spring and fall, but stop watering in mid to late spring. Daffodils prefer drier soil during the summer when they go dormant.
  • Soil
  • Daffodils grow best in rich, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH of around 6.0 to 7.0. The soil should contain lots of organic matter such as coco coir, perlite, or vermiculite.
  • Protection
  • Protect daffodils from extremes with mulch, shade, and insulation. In early spring, loosen mulch but protect the shoots from cold, drying winds.
  • Rodents
  • Daffodils contain oxalic acid, which makes them unpalatable to most rodents. If you have problems with rodents, you can add sharp pieces of shells or a pelleted rodent deterrent around each planting hole.
  • Cut daffodils
  • When you cut daffodils, place them in a deep container of cool water and set them in a shady place for at least three hours, or overnight.
